Total Watts used Daily = 0.48 Kilowatts

Results:
0.48 Kw x 19 hours x 365 days x .16 c/kWh = €532
Total Cost if all the items above were left switched on = €532 per year

Solution:

The above case study is based on all of the items listed being left on for the entire time.

 

So lets look at the option of them all being left on standby for the same time. Standby on average uses 25% of the full power.

Results:
0.12 Kw x 19 hours x 365 days .16c/kWh = €133
Total Cost if all left on standby as above = €133 per year.

Solution:

Multiply the above savings by the fact that many houses now boast multiples of the items listed and add to that phone-chargers, portable games console-chargers, MP3 Players etc., and the savings gained by using a cut-off device become increasingly substantial.
